Looks like that USCG is on its way back into Whenuapai. On a related note, are there any other visitors here at the moment? Been told that ‘two jets’ have been buzzing around Whenuapai yesterday and today, in a loose formation. I’m inclined to think it’s probably just a couple of Texans but wondered if anyone knows anything different. No argument from me on that front Dave, I’m just curious from an enthusiasts point of view, especially since it was a nice surprise to drive past Whenuapai and see something a bit different parked up. Story courtesy of Ministry for Primary Industries. Fisheries compliance officers from New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, France, and the United States have detected nearly 40 alleged breaches of high seas rules during a major South Pacific patrol. Called Operation Nasse, the fisheries patrol covered a vast area from the Tasman Sea eastwards to the south of the Cook Islands. USAF C-130J-30 at Whenuapai, currently flying about the place. Sounds different to our H models; quieter I think.

I must say the light grey scheme looks good flying around, especially in late afternoon sun.
