I wonder if any New Zealanders served with No. 90 Squadron during their time as the only Bomber Command squadron to operate the Boeing Fortress I, 7 May 1941 to November 1942.
They did high altitude formation bombing in daytime, just like the USAAF did later, but with the early model Fortress and in much smaller numbers. It was not a huge success.
Does anyone know of Kiwis/RNZAF members involved?

Seem to recall that at least one, if not two NZ pilots were involved in ferrying the original B-17Ds (Fortress I's) across the Atlantic in 1941, but don't think they had anything to do with 90 Squadron.
