The Warbirds Over Wanaka article in the current edition of Australian Aviation has a photo of NZ3009, and the caption underneath states that this P-40 is Australia bound: does anyone know if this is just a typo or 'fair dinkum'?
The article does mention that Spitfire TB863 is heading to Temora, so I assume that somewhere in the editing process it all got a bit confused.
Bloody Aussies! ;D

Are you sure it's not Alan Arthur's aircraft which is also ex-RNZAF, and was also at Wanaka? Maybe the reporter didn't listen to the commentators properly.
Other than this, I frickin hope not, the Aussies already have two of our RNZAF P-40E survivors flying, plus out Spitfire.

I'm sure it's just a typo. The caption actually says "This Chinese Nationalist marked P-40E is Australia-bound."
Alan Arthur's P-40 was the RAF 113SQN one wasn't it?
