What a wonderful set of photo's Calum. Brought back memories of when I used to ride my bike to Moorabbin airport in the 1950's. That Australian Air Charters Proctor was the first light aircraft I ever flew in. The Laverton and Point Cook airshow shots also capture the era, and the Me 163 photo was taken the same day I flew my old Piper Tri Pacer to a display there in the early 70's. But the really interesting pics are of the CAC Woomera being built/tested. I think a pilot would have been rather desperate firing those rear facing guns and risk shooting off his own tail feathers. Great shot too of the old Fishermans Bend airfield adjacent to CAC, DAP/GAF and the Aeronautical Research Labs. I think the advent of the Lincoln marked the end of its use as an active airfield.
