For those who are not aware I own and publish two aviation mags, HeliOps - my civil helo industry mag, and HeliTac - my military helo mag.
If you would like a freebie copy of each or just one of them, drop me a PM with name and postal address and will send one off for you. Would welcome any feedback from members when they get them.
Cheers
Ned

No money in warbird mags To make a mag successful you need the advertising base and unfortunately, at least the way I do things, the numbers dont stack up. Ned

Whadda mean maybe. In Afghanistan I got to fly around for eight hours one day sitting on the back ramp of an Aussie Chinook as we flew around at 50ft. Sometimes lifes a bitch - NOT.

I didn't want to sound like you had me there :-)
I enjoy warbirds but the three years I spent at Fairbairn as a photographer were the 3 best years flying fun I have ever had. We did things that were just unreal.
That includes a running hot landing in an Iroquois about 20 knots faster than we should have and ended up sliding sideways for some time.

The current RNZAF Iroquois display pilot 'Shanks' does that side slide after a sliding landing in his routine.
I'm more a warbird fan too and helicopters are a little further down my favourite list but they're still damned cool, so I'd be interested in taking a look at your magazines please. I'll PM my address. 'Free 'sounds like a very good deal. Thanks Ned.

I have just received my copies of these two magazines in the post.
I have to say they are very impressive. I have just worked out who you are Ned, and realise that we have one of NZ's masters among us when it comes to aviation photography.
The two magazines are very much in a style as seen in Pacific Wings in layout and with the same nice glossy paper and classy style, very nice indeed. And the standard of photography is utterly fantastic. I love the shot of the Bell 427 over the Czech castle.
As many will have guessed here helicopters are not in my immediate field of interest, but these magazines actually have a very wide variety of international topics in each and I'm sure anyone would find something that interests them in these pages. I am going to thoroughly absorb and enjoy the articles later, I just wanted to say thanks very much Ned and congrats on two excellent magazines.

Hi Ned,
many thanks for the magazines, they turned up in the post a couple of days ago but I haven't had a chance to post anything on the forum until now. I'll echo the views of Dave and Gavin, they're great and very interesting magazines.
I must have spent several hundred hours as a passenger in helicopters (mainly a Jetranger) in the late 80's in my role as part of a TVNZ news crew so even though I'm from the fixed wing side of the fence I still have a sort of chopper soft spot.
Cheers and thanks, Stu.

Ned, thank you so very much for sending me the copies of your wonderful magazines.
I have had a quick flick through them and I am very impressed with the quality of the mags, and of course, your wonderful images. Nice paper stock that you've chosen for the covers too.
