What is that Colin? It looks a bit like the Flying Doctors' Nomad but not sure if it is one.

Such a nice sunny morning today so I went to Ardmore Cafe for coffee and watch the action. It was busy with many trainers coming and going and then a very pleasant sound of the Spitfire taking off followed shortly after by a Harvard. It was getting even better when I saw the Strikemaster being towed out so had plenty of time to finish the coffee and find a nice spot a bit closer for some pics. Spitfire joining the circuit and sorry about quality as it is a long way away even for 400mm lens. I took up a position near the Cherokee for these shots. Hi Andrew. All in all a very pleasant few hours at AMZ. Cheers

There was quite a lot going on today, by the way Colin if you happen to be around tomorrow I believe a few of the Warbirds aircraft are going to be parked outside the aero club in the afternoon.

Colin, I noticed you by the 03 threshold this afternoon - you didn't happen to get a shot of the bright red Tomahawk EVL did you? Reason I ask is that I was in it with a student.

Colin you wouldn't have a shot of the P40 taking off a bit later with only one on board would you? It was JK's first solo on type, and on his birthday!

The Cessna 162 has had its DNA changed and has now re-appeared on the Auckland Aero Club flightline as ZK-AAC/2 The first ZK-AAC was Aroha Clifford's Avro 594 Avian IIIA, which succumbed in 1936.

I flew it today and had to keep biting my tongue to avoid saying Delta November Alpha, although I have to say Alpha Alpha Charlie rolls off the tongue a bit better, and it's much more appropriate!
