That was the one that was involved in an incident at Ohakea wasn't it? Pity to see it like that, any chance of it ever being restored or is it parts only now? Just out of interest, what is the aircraft in the second Ardmore photo in hairy's post, the one with stars painted on? Also, I think this one can probably go here too, I've come to the conclusion that ZK-DEA at Thames could well be derelict, it doesn't appear to have moved in the last year or so, and it doesn't look particularly airworthy. This photo was taken about 6 months ago, but as of today it's still in the same place and looking no different. Leo P.

Not abandoned or derelict - but just a little unloved looking:

The RNZAF Museum's Andover is now inside one of the hangars - it is good that it is finally out of the weather.

That is good news. The exterior paintwork was starting to look a bit worn last time I got up close to the Andover.

Fantastic news, Don! When did that happen? I was there in, I think, November or December and she was outside.

I see your P-40s and raise you B-29s over B-24s..................... Raising the stakes . . . it helps if you can read French: "ben heuuuu :ange: c'est pas moi qui l'ai faîte mais j'ai observé quelques sites, l'avantage des maquettes d'avions est qu'elles sont en plastique, il est donc beaucoup plus facile d'obtenir des torsions de la carlingue, des éventrations et de la rouille perforante... aprés le tout est une question de peinture, de récup, de mise en scêne et surtout d'observation d'épaves réelles; connaître la structure d'un avion, et les conséquences d'un crash et de l'oxydation des métaux dans le temps permet des dioramas plus que réalistes je vous montre deux réalisations que l'on peut y voir, il m'est avis qu'elles vont vous dire quelque chose... www.forum-auto.com/les-clubs/discussions-salon/sujet221-210.htm
