Andrew, I couldn't agree more. Absolutely superb shots which make the old 'bou look graceful.

Glenn, Many thanks for you excellent photos. If I picked a favourite out of all the great photos it would be the "overhead" shot of the Hornet pilot in the cockpit. Could you say more about the circumstances of this photo please. Thanks. It is no.5 going backwards from this message. Going from the top down on this page no.8 looks similar - so for my fav did you use a stronger telephoto zoom? Phil.

the shot you refer to was shot on a 400 mm lense. But it wasn't perfectly composed and ended up being at the top right hand corner of the frame. So to get a 6x4 crop without it being too unbalanced I had to crop alot of the image out. Too much actually but as this is one of the only shots that has the cockpit well illuminated, I finally posted it out in cyber world. I'm surprised you like this one the best, says a lot about all the others ;-) The 2 shots were shot about 1 second apart that you refer to. Anyway, still working through some others.

Glen, There was no intention to offend. :-) It reflects my interest in the unusual shot. I think you have done very well (my understatement here). I understand about cropping. Seeing the cockpit front panel so well - with details - at this angle makes a great photo. We could guess that you may have been in another aircraft but the "G" condensation says likely not. :-) Or you and your pilot were feeling suicidal in another aircraft. Thanks for the info. Phil.

Nah, not offended. You should see some of the emails I get from some photographers.
All shot from the ground.

Glen, I hope those e-mails had money attached. :-) Another question: The first photo top of this page - front on Hornet at speed. If you are on the ground how high is this aircraft off the ground in your estimation please. I like the way you strive for unusual photos, controlling the lens distortion and subject framing (or cropping). My money is attached. :-) Phil.
