I feel a DC3 story coming...
.... our job a Wanaka was to drop Kiwi Blue at the beginning of the show and the hold for our handling display, at least on the Sunday as time was to short on Sat.
Well to do Para you have to take the door off and this limits the airframe to 165Kts. We really didn't know why however, it's a very brave man to go against 60 years of knowledge so in we barrel. Just as Geoff pulls up, I get a tap on the shoulder, turn around (no I was not flying) to see a 4ft piece of the trim around the toilet sailing up the aisle. Luckily it got wedged under a seat otherwise it would have fluttered down right in front of 100,000 people as were right in front of the crowd.....
Guess we know the reason for 165Kts.....

Dave ... she is now W/O or I think they are classed a saircrew so she is a master and with the new brevet will have a set of double wings soon. following on from the aussies. she is the PTSU W/O at the moment ? 99/2000 I was Sgt in the Para bay and worked with these guys all the time. She is married now, cannot remember her married name The name of the guy is Liev Leatherman. He arrived when i was there, from memory he was ex Royal marines.
