Yes Peoples, there is an RAAF Caribou attending, as confirmed by the email newsletter,... but I see the mystery jet has yet to be announced.

Well the Caribou is certainly great to see on display, and it never ceases to amaze me what the crews can do with them.
No wonder the RAAF hasn't been able to find a replacement for them as yet.

I'm aiming to be there! I'm going to Avalon, then I'd like to scoot across to Whenuapai, then down to Omaka, then on down to Christchurch to annoy my family . At least that's the plan!

Well so long as not everyone from the forum turns up, yeah I'd be up for the first round. How far is Omaka from Blenheim? Cheers, I'll keep that in mind, Chris.

And no one has brought up this yet Enthusiasts of World War II aircraft will be in for a treat as we expect to be seeing at least one newly restored WW2 fighter in action at CF'07. This aircraft is one of the high profile WW2 fighters, and in the past we've often been asked if this type will be at the show - this year we should be able to say 'Yes!' More details soon. And if you don't get the news letter, click on this link and follow the instructions. www.classicfighters.co.nz/news/index.shtml

Which WWII type hasn't appeared at Classic Fighters before?

I know what it is. It'll be great - first of Mk to fly in NZ too. Well worth the trip to Omaka for that alone.

I've just spoken to the lovely Michelle at AiR2THERE at Paraparam regarding reistering my interest for a Saturday fly-in to Omaka and it looks like a good thing. It will be cheaper for me to drive to Paraparam and fly to Omaka and back again. They have a Caravan and a Chieftain, both of which could land at Omaka itself. They are holding a file of likely passengers, so if you're in Wellington, send them an e-mail.
