Hi Simmo,
I loook forward to meeting you. Thanks for the kind comments. I just feel soooo good taking shots, particularly those which are a bit "arty". It is also fun chatting with the guys in the media pen. We are such a bunch of little boys showing each other the images on the screens on our digitals. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" syndrome. We never grow up.
HARS guys and gals are also terrific. I am only involved in a very little way but hope to be able to spend more time at Albion Park.
See you Saturday.
Peter

Holy cow Batman, you sure nailed the "backfire". It blows my effort right away. Is that your shot?

No not mine it is Will Mallinson from Christchurch and a great catch indeed. I was in Christchurch over the week end and got a C-17 through the fence and as close as I could get. It is doing the Antarctic supply runs at the moment along with 4 Hercules. Some very nice shots from Richmond coming through, keep em coming. Colin

I out-smarted myself with this one by shooting @ 1/60th sec with a 450mm lens. I like the effect but the subject has too much movement. Call it art. "Vampire races train"

Ahh the good old days... ;D
Good to see 152 still flying, did 100 hours in her and the only broken part was an exhaust stub, (which I got to keep).
Tulky does look good in the leather jacket.... might have to get me one!
Just a pity those red PC9 things got in the way otherwise would have been a good shot..
Cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Once I got past your cryptic "152" I understood what you were saying! I assume "Tulky" is the man with the Tiger Moth? What is his name so I can put that on my "planeimages" site copy of the same pic?

Sorry about the 152 (for everyone else it's the tail number (Yes I know its painted on the nose)), see I knew exactly what I was talking about ;D 228 was another workhorse and 195 worshiped the Devil Peter did you get the crew details for the Bou? I'd be interested in who was flying it... Cheers Andrew

I think "Boris" Becker is/was leading for this season.

The Roulettes flew a shortened 5-ship routine at Richmond because their Leader, Squadron Leader Steve Bekker has apparently broken his leg in a motorbike accident.
From the Roulettes site -
"Our Roulette Leader has been injured in a motorcycle accident. Unfortunately, this means most planned displays in the remainder of 2006 have had to cancelled. Please confirm Roulettes displays with your event organiser."

Sorry, I didn't get the names of the crew. At 0630 it was a bit early for them. I just take pix. Did you come up with the name of the T.M. Pilot please?
Que the Roulettes? How come they fall apart just because one man falls off his perch? I thought the military had a chain of command to prevent this sort of thing affecting their operations.
Don't they keep key personnel away from silly things like motorbikes?

They should have kept one or two away from aircraft in my experience...but in respect of display teams they are usually extra -curricular, in that they are additional to normal duties, and it is not that simple to insert a 'newbie ' into a routine even if the newbie is an experienced pilot as, indeed, they always are!

Hi Dave,
Thanks. Good to see you are back on deck. Somebody scored a better one a split second beforehand. It was published in Flight recently and there is a link to it in an earlier post ij this thread.
