I have just heard from the race committee and sadly I have not been chosen to race next year. I am what they call a standby pilot in case one of the others can’t make it.
I am gutted of course but it is their race and they call the shots.
I feel I did the best I could and at least proved to them that kiwis can indeed fly.
The pilots picked are:
Glen Dell, South Africa – Past World Advanced Champion. Hannes Arch, Hungary - European Champion. Sergey Rakhmanin, Russia – Current World Champion.
At least I got beaten by the best!
It will be disappointing that there will be no Pilots from New Zealand or Australia as the Australian pilot was not given the opportunity to qualify at Perth.
Thanks to all those who showed their support.
It may still happen.
Richard.

That is a shame Richard - but be patient, as I'm sure your time will come.

I'm very sorry to hear that Richard.
Please do keep in touch with the forum and tell us about any other air displays you may have coming up. Your flying is always worth watching.
