A suggested meeting venue for forum members attending Avalon is the Antique Aircraft Association tent. Should be manned for the main days, it is a place to sit in the shade and will be surrounded by some interesting antiques and their aeroplanes. If any of you think this a goer, I will tee it up. I am also happy to arrange/host a visit to Tyabb if anyone is interested. Rob

Organised. AAAA tent etc. is in the sport and recreation aircraft area. It will be manned on the weekend only. Just rock along and introduce yourself. Ideal venue to RV, leave messages and meet other enthusiasts etc. Also an opportunity inspect the AAAA's aircraft display from behind the barriers. I plan to be at Avalon on the Sunday, and can organise a tour of the warbirds display also if anyone is interested.

Melbourne/Avalon weather guarantee.....it will be fine if it doesn't rain. Just hope the bushfires are finished by then. On a number of days recently visibility in the metro area has been <1km due smoke haze. Don't forget to bring sun block, a hat and money to buy me a beer.

Good advice about the hat and sunblock (and money for beers), Rob. I probably owe you a few beers after my previous comments about Yaks anyway. I think I drank about 1000lt of water at the show in 2005; and carried about 10kg of dust home with me afterwards! ;D

Not sure if we have got 1000 litres of water left in Victoria! No probs with the Yak comments. Not everyone's favourite, but they are a great machine and was sad to sell mine. Probably won't be flying into Avalon this year so offer of beer gladly accepted! Rob
