As a number of us appear to be going to the RNZAF Whenuapai airshow this Saturday (yes, I am going now thanks to Bruce), shall we arrange a meet up for a chat?
If we set a time and place and all meet up there then. For example the place could be beside the control tower or whatever, and as there's a full schedule and we don't want to miss too much flying/photographing, I suggest a meet before flying commences (say 10am) and perhaps for latecomers we could have a second time during the lunch break - say 12.30 at the same place.
That way if we meet in the morning maybe some who want to can mill around in a group and then at lunchtime if we mosey over to the meet point again we can pick up stragglers who've arrived late or drifted away from the original group.
This is just an idea. It doesn't have to be the tower, if you can suggest a better stationary object where we won't be in any doubt, that's easy to find. Maybe we could make it something like the Thunder Mustang as there will be a few forum members there already beside that.
Thoughts and suggestions?

Well, I'm not now attending, due to an appointment I must keep tomorrow, though I'd rather I didn't!
Sam, is going up on Friday I believe...

That's a pity Colin. I hope to catch up with Sam anyway.
We need to decide a fixed place and time to meet up. Suggestions? I haven't been to Whenuapai in a while but doubt it's changed any.

I would suggest somewhere other than the Control Tower to meet, it won't be in the public access area! The Seaspite static display seems appropriate, and it's easily identifiable.

Seasprite static display sounds like a good spot and will Les be there too? There is at least 4 in our group and Dave you have met David Atchinson our driver. I think he usually wears the CAF uniform so easy to spot. Catch up with you there.

I'll try to be there, not exactly sure where its going to be placed but likely outside airmovements or so, the static helicopter will also be flying so needs to be able to be moved away to the flying area easily. I guess I'll recognise the group by the number of large cameras??? ;-) If theres not much going on I 'might' be able to bring you guys behind the ropes for a closer look around the hangar and such. Les.

I'll be there working from (gulp!) 7.15am. Will be on the WASC display stand (look for the Tomahawk EZG and probably PA28 WEH) from time to time throughout the day. Will make either/both of the 10am and 12.30 meetings if not tied up there. That's gonna be the major problem - mutual recognition. Pink armbands anyone? I'm the furry one:
