Nice work. However Johnnie Houlton's aircraft also had a pink elephant noseart in front of the cockpit door. It's not worn on the aircraft these days, but it was his mascot and worn on all his aircraft I believe.

Cheers for the comment, I was wondering about the elephant on this machine myself, The only port side photo of ML407 in his autobiography doesn't appear to have it although the glare in the shot may be hiding it. I may have to go to the library and get that little 485 Sqn book the was recently made, I think it has a nicer image, at least I know its got a colour representation of it from his earlier MkV that I could scan and add on

I don't think I've ever found a photo of the elephant on ML407. However about two years ago a diecast manufacturer released ML407 with the elephant. I wasn't sure if this was correct so I posted a message to the ML407 forum and Carolyn Grace herself confirmed to me that the elephant was indeed worn on the aircraft during the war.

Lovely work phas3e.
Just one thing in relation to Deere's Spit. His second Kiwi has been quoted over the years as being P9398 but was actually P9390. This aircraft also had the Kiwi emblem on the starboard side as well.
If you want Deere's Kiwi that he pancaked on the beach near Dunkirk, this was N3180.
Gerard Morris talks extensively about Deere's 3 Kiwis in "Spitfire: The NZ Story" and there are several photos of them.
Hope I haven't bored you to tears with all that!
Cheers and have fun with them,
Tim.

Cheers for that
I have based this on the photo of Deere standing next to the starboard side of a spit with kiwi 1 on the logo.
I made some assumptions that it was P9398, and that the serial was not painted over.
This is more of a show skin, what I will do for the game will be a more generic looking mid September 11 group Spitfire.
