Hi,
I guess the main points I would make are that as pointed out this record was set under FAI rules (and yep it took Rob a bit of organising), and yes the two aircraft are in different weight classes.
But if it serves to get someone else interested in having a crack at it........ I guess we will just have to go out and do it a bit faster!
For the record the run was done not too much above the economy cruise power setting and at 10,000' (except for the start and finish of course which were at 500') for a grand total of approx 190 litres of fuel, when we landed at Christchurch we still had at least 2 hours fuel on board!
So we think that there is plenty more speed left in the TM,
Great fun and I think Rob and I :)will have to do some planning and aim to set a few more records over the next year.
Cheers Chris Bromley

Well done Chris. I wonder, would you consider the Kaitaia to Bluff record?

Yes I think that one is an option for us, just need the right weather over the country!
