Hi all
Working on a WW1 replica at the moment and we're looking at the Rotec radials produced in Australia....does anyone here have any experience of them? Or know someone who has? I'd be very keen to hear.

Zac, Are you aware of this project that Jerry Yagen is running? www.aimschool.com/?page_id=138Several of the student teams have selected Rotec radials for their WW1 replicas. Maybe you can get some information off them? Cheers, Brett

As yet I am not aware of many projects using the Rotec in New Zealand, I suspect the high price is slowing the uptake a little. I have heard from various people that the build quality is exceptional, with lots of precision CNC machining. The latest 9 cylinder version is quite promising as it is in the 150hp class, which allows a few more installation options. I guess you've found the Rotec web page - www.rotecradialengines.com/ as there are reports there of installations in WWI replicas. Personally I have given a little thought to building my next (!) homebuilt (If I ever get this one finished a paid for!) And I am seriously considering an all metal scale Grumman Hellcat with the Rotec 2800 powerplant (microlight category, and complete with authentic Grumman wing fold and retracts....) - Donations accepted!
