Some of the following have been posted before in a poor form, but now we've worked out how to properly scan slides and so I'm going through and doing some of the more interesting ones. Dad took these between the 1970's and 1990's. A Thruster, don't know where or when A Harvard under restoration at Ardmore. This may have been NZ1099 and possibly on display at the 1990 Ardmore Air Show? The Mangaweka C-47, mid-late 1970's The Grumman Goose ZK-DFC and some homebuilt at Ardmore in about 1990 More shots will follow as I get rouind to scanning them.

The slides have come out quite nicely - the homebuilt is ZK-TOY - a Corby Starlet

The Harvard is indeed NZ1099, and as Naki says, the Homebuilt is Don Wilkinson's TOY. The DC3 at Mangaweka was only moved there in the Early 1980s, so the photo would be a bit later than suggested. I suggest the Thruster is at the Mystery Creek Fieldays, beside one of the small lakes.

Thanks for the details. Yes, early 1980's on the Dakota 'Weka' is probably more realistic. Mum trie to tell me it was the late 1960's. Haha.

A New Zealand-owned company, Todd Brothers, imported petrol from Russia from the 1930s onwards, which was marketed under the Europa brand. BP purchased Europa in the 1970s, and it was phased out.
Doubt whether it's the eighties?

True. I vaguely remember Europa as a kid, thought it was absorbed by Mobil for some reason, but alas, it appears BP bought it.

Well, just in case, they certainly were the smae company a few years ago. Who knows though with big business. The major oil companies also act together as a cartel, hence the reason why there's no real competition and all the prices rise together.

Thanks Joe, I love these photos and wish Dad had bothered to tell me the aircraft was coming that day. He bunked off work to see it.
I'm not certain but i think the chap in the left of that third Avro 626 photo (on John Lanham's right), is Dave Mitchell, Warrant Officer i/c RNZAF Museum Restoration Team. It looks like him.

Why don't they fly the Avro 626 as part of the historic flight? I sthe aeroplane too valuable to fly, or is it a cost thing, or just the museum wanting it for display permanently?

I saw it fly at OH after restoration, but if I recall it correctly the problem is the engine is so rare there are no parts available anywhere. Hence the decision not to fly it.
