I am rather baffled by this...
I have the two volumes of Warren P. Russell's excellent books on RNZAF aircraft colour schems and markings. I have No. 1 and No. 3.
I have always been told, by many sources, that No. 2 was never printed, never finished, and that Russell had released No. 3 prematurely because he was keen to get the volume specifically on the Corsair out, as it would be a good moneyspinner. It was called Volume 3 - I was told - because he had always intended to release the interum volume and this kept it in alphabetical order.
Even the RNZAF Museum staff who sold me the two books I have, and were very knowledgable in RNZAF publications in those days, told me that the Vol 2 was never published.
Now I have found evidence that supposedly, it was.
Here...

Which states these details:
'NZPAF/RNZAF Aircraft Colour Schemes Vol.2'
by Warren P. Russell
Published by New Zealand Aero Products, New Zealand, 1986 ISBN: ?
* Detailed guide to markings for: Bell UH-1, Blackburn Baffin, Boeing 727, Brewster Buffalo, Bristol F2b, Bristol Freighter, Cessna 421.
So, is this true? Was the book published after all? If so, how can I buy a copy??
It always irked me that a) it wasn't published, and b) the so-called alphabetical order that meant the Corsair volume became No. 3 was a crock because Vol 1 has the Bleriot XI - and yet the Bell Iroquois and Blackburn Baffin come before it - two much more interesting types.
Has anyone got any details of this second volume then? Is it real? Have you got a copy??
