No, just red. It was that colour in Feb 2006 when I filmed Richard Hood flying at Sport Avex (I'm sure that was MAD, or am I wrong?)

Didn't fly Mad at Sport Avex, it was EES (now in New Plymouth) Mad has been in that scheme for a while now.

When MAD first arrived it had MasterTrade logos (Something to do with Richard working there at the time!) I was at Gulf Aeronautics at the time and helped assemble it. It was finished in the most amazing cotton and dope fabric job, applied by the Christen factory. I had to do a fabric repair near the tailpost at one stage after the Maule tailwheel fork broke (A common fault with this type of tailwheel) and was amazed to see the sequence the colour coats were applied. At the time MAD was red with white stripes with fine blue borders. Dissolving the dope for the repair showed that the whole aircraft was first painted white, then the whole lot blue, then finally red. The finish was glass smooth - even better than fabric that has been painted with 2 pot polyurethane (A pet hate of mine) beautiful job (really hard to get the repair to blend in) but in hindsight it must have been quite heavy to get it that smooth. The current scheme looks pretty snappy though, not quite as dated as the old factory red scheme.

I would slackie...but there is the small matter of 9500nm, and currently i can only get as far as San Diego on the company bus! Otherwise, I could probably be convinced to part with some cash
