The Halswell Residents’ Association invites you to attend the Wigram Air Crash Memorial as we commemorate 65 years since the crash where seven airmen lost their lives.
15 October 2018 at 3.30pm, at the end of Edwin Ebbett Place, Wigram* *Edwin Ebbett Place has limited parking, please try Platinum Drive.
We are marking the event with a minute of silence at 3.45pm, when the accident occurred. Medals may be worn.
Following the ceremony, please join us at the Air Force Museum, 45 Harvard Ave, Wigram, for afternoon tea and an opportunity to view a Devon aircraft from the Museum’s collection.

On Monday I attended the event above, which was a very nice unveiling service for the formal memorial. There was a good representation from the Air Force and families of those involved. Afterwards, we returned to the Air Force Museum for a cup of tea and viewing of the Devon in the collection there. I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with John, who was to be on the flight, but swapped places with someone else at the last minute.
