I wonder where it ended up after it didn't get to NZ?

Great article on a very interesting type. Apart from the landing gear, appears to be a scaled up T18.

Found the ad for the FD25 N91316 in 'Aviation News' August 2007 page 25. Sale price listed was USD150,000 - including a full set of blueprints and the manufacturing rights. Said to be (at that time) close to being airworthy.

Time to dig up an old thread after seeing pacificwingsmagazine.com/2010/12/07/reappearance-of-a-relic%E2%80%94the-fletcher-fd-25/#more-1043 this in the latest Pacific wings. I've thought for years this looked a likely little beasty, I would dearly love to see it at least come to NZ for one of our bigger airshows if it can't come here to live as suggested by the article. Anyone looking for pics, there is a beaut on Page 51 of the Fletcher thread & the Pacific Aerospace website also has a page on this, a google for Fletcher FD-25 brings up quite a few. Maybe Pacific Aerospace should look at purchasing it. Can't one imagine a scaled down Cresco with a wing full of hard points. Steve.

Look what I found at a local invitational fly-in near me in Northern California on Saturday. Fletchers everywhere!!!!!! It's an impressive performer in the air, we tried to stage a formation take-off with one of the 750XLs, but the performance differential on take-off meant that they were not close enough to get in the same frame.

It certainly would be a fun little machine to fly I imagine, but I can't see anyone other than a diehard Fletcher fan (like me) with money to burn (unlike me) actually purchasing, housing and maintaining the thing. Don't get me wrong, I want to see it flying in great condition when I'm 80+, but it would be a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to make it so. Cracking photo by the way

Nice photo Mike. It's interesting to see the PAC750Xl, built just down the road from here, being photographed in the USA. You can sort of see the lineage between the two types too.

There were 2 750XLs flying, they were very active all day ferrying parachutists. I'll post up some shots, along with some more of the Defender in the air, when I've finished going through them.

I have a copy of Air Progress magazine January 1965 which has a detailed article on the FD25. Included is a tiny 3-view with the major dimensions given.Would this be of any use to you? The article also shows a cutaway view. PM me if you're interested & we'll sort something out

Oh, that's a worry: "It could be easily configured into an armed UAV."

Beppe, if you are looking at a R/C model you need to check out the April 2002 "Flying Scale Models" magazine. There is an article of a 54 1/2 inch span for a 30-40 engine drsigned by Pete Miller. Has build photos, reduced sized plans and 3 views. Also an article and photos of the full size.
