Do spotters mark the power poles and gate posts like the swaggers used to?

Like this? Beags, I'm thinking we'll need to mark our territory at our pristine spotting locations Mint shots Gav

Finally saw the B757 here last Friday, and on a clear day as usual. and the canadians were visiting too. Was a bit windy this day and the east west runway was being used. Saw this the other day, Have not seen LAN for a while. not the best shot. I wonder if mum is called Mary

Who or what is LAN? Is it an airline? Lan Chile, the national airline of Chile...................... ..................and in my opinion one of the best looking airline colour schemes out there.

Didn't some of the ex-Air New Zealand DC-10s end up being purchased/operated by Lan Chile in the early 1980s?

The LAN A342 was a diversion due to strong cross winds in AKL. Some nice F/As onboard Also had an Atlas Air 744F here too

No Not the Canadians Beagle , it was a FAA Flightcheck Canadair Challenger Reg# N 86 that is at the moment down at the Antarctic doing some route and Navaid checks. It went down to the ice on the 18th. Cheers Bazza

oh, well I am corrected then. I could have driven around to the end of the road by the campervans to get a better look but lazyness set in. I was in a blind spot for good light where I was.
are they able to get down quite a way before PSR.

Not sure about Challenger but the C17 has a PSR when it goes down that is the same as its arrival time at the Antarctic. By that reckoning it can go all the way and then turn around and come back without landing. Bazza

Very nice photos Glenn, I used to enjoy watching the Starlifters and Galaxies take off from Harewood from my Wigram barrack room window. Amazing aeroplanes.
