The WWII era Matador refueller must have been made by Airfix - very overscale rivets ;D

A couple me from the collection of negatives. It's hard to know what condition they are in until they are developed.

Hi Paul Well you can actually buy new reproductions of these but it would be interesting to see inside the real thing! Sometimes you get personal additions to the notes or even official modifications. ;D

What a stunning thread... just stumbled across this from Dave's first podcast. I've skimmed through it only... wished I had found this a few weeks ago when I was off work sick... I could then give it the attention that it deserves and read every post... I'll store this for later!! Even saw an uncle of mine in one of the photos - a young John Scrimshaw in a Venom in Singapore (I think).

What a stunning thread... I agree! Very interesting and full of fascinating images, glideboy. You have some real treasure there. Sqn Ldr Reid had a terrific time with his camera by the looks of things. I've noticed a few interesting things in the thread; there's a Lincoln that keeps popping up with "Thor II" on its nose. This is Lincoln B.2 RF525 of the Empire Air Armament School at Manby in Lincolnshire. It replaced a Lancaster known as Thor I. I also noticed a few of the Dutch aircraft in the thread were not identified; I hope I can help there: The top aircraft registered PH-AAA is a Bucker Bu 181 Bestmann, below that registered PH-NAN is a Koolhoven FK.43, next, Miles Messenger PH-NDR, Piper L-4 PH-UCH. Really interesting thread.

I am really pleased that because this thread was mentioend in the first WONZ Show episode, now a load of people are discovering it again. It's one of those classic threads that this forum is all about.

Brilliant thread! Covers some of the years my Dad served at Wigram, Hobsonville, and Ohakea. Gonna try and dig out some of his slides and pics if he'll let me...

I have been revisiting the thread after it was highlighted in Dave's online interviews and have been really enjoying it again.

It's good to see you back Paul. Got any more photos? Hi Dave, Nah I thought I would see if I could still remember my log on details. I'm at home on ACC at the moment and while I am working from home, I am restricted to 5 hours per day.
