Hitler's "Silent Dart" 700+mph flying bomb

I'm not really sure what to make of this. Even though it's from the Daily Mail, could it be a hoax? A glider with a speed of 700mph?

Well they did design and build a fighter glider, the Blohm und Voss BV 40, the idea being to keep the cross sectional area to a minimum and therefore make a smaller target for gunners (esp B 17 and B 24) to aim at.
There was an article with photos, three views and a cutaway in the August 1960 RAF Flying Review.
