VC-1 were based at NAS Barbers Point, west of Honolulu. Base is closed today but it has a good museum. VF-805 would be hosted by VC-1 if they ever disembarked in Hawaii. ![](http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l261/SpazSinbad/TA4forumVC1.jpg) ![](http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l261/SpazSinbad/A4forumVC1.jpg)

Darren Mottram (Motty) has some pics (from Robbo): "Hey Motty, I'm sure you have some photos of mine that I took during RimPac 78 (P3 Detachment 11Sqn) of the VC1 birds. Had the pleasure of meeting the guys (maintainers of the A4s), good crew who didn't mind a beer either. Post them if you wish. Cheers, Robbo" ![](http://motty.hobbyvista.com/temp/Skyhawks/Robbo%27s-USNavy-VC1-Skyhawk-001-1-001-CpyRgt-1020.jpg) ![](http://motty.hobbyvista.com/temp/Skyhawks/Robbo%27s-USNavy-VC1-Skyhawk-003-1-001-CpyRgt-1020.jpg)

Nice photos. Those A4's are wearing very flamboyant paint schemes.
