Dave, this young fellow was on Close-up last night 9-6-09. Very keen to get airborne as soon as he is able no regrets, amazed all doctors at his speed of recovery. You may be able to see it on tvnz website.

Hi All I'm Ryans Dad (Ian Hodgkinson) Ryan is doing well back at school and out of the chair most of the time lots of Physio to do yet tho We sneaked away for a spin in my Piper Arrow Turbo ZK-TWM on sunday . He loved it So all is going well last set of Xrays showed his spine is regenerating and we have a chance that the bolts and pins may be taken out later on still no official report on the accident as yet I'm sure that will make intresting reading the after accident photos show the trim in full aft position ?? drop the rope and what would happen ?? Anyway thanks for the intrest and good wishes fly safe and enjoy regards Ian Hodgkinson

Welcome Ian, thanks for the update and the great news that your son's recovery has been very positive. It must have been a harrowing time there for a bit, but it is great to hear that he is back at school and, better still, back in the air and loving it. As Bruce says, please pass on our best wishes to Ryan.

I hear thru the grape vine that Ryan flew again in a glider about two weeks ago.
Well done Ryan.
