Hi all. Trying to get as much done on this build as I can during the weekend.... Doubt if I will finish by Sunday but hopefully within the week, work permintting? Out of the box build... no time or money for after-market accessories. I NEED to finsih something for a change and this project is hopefully it!!!! Academy 1/48 F8F-1 Bearcat. Not all the sprue's and parts but only a representative photo to show the neat, well detailed, flash free moldings. Before and after shot of cockpit tub. Colors per instruction booklet. Add some drybrushed silver, yello, red and silver for the switches and "knobs" and add homemade masking tape seatbelts, and we have the making of a pleasing cockpit project. I tend to break-up my build into smaller "projects" Before... After Instrument panel. Flat black, silver drybrush and a drop of liquid glue on each dial face. Gunsight needs a scrape to get rid of the mold ridge. But hell... this is not a competition build... who cares as I will be the only one to know about it.... Yeah, yeah... I know... can't leave it will fix it before installing in fuselage.. Pratt & Whitney R-2800 in the making. The art of drybrushing is reaching new heights here.... Perspective: ;D

Hi Naki Thanx for the compliment. Back at work the past week three of which I was away meant little got done on the Bearcat although I did finish Airfix's 1/72 scale FB 11 Sea Fury in the colours of Hoagy Carmichael's Korean example. The following pics are the present state of affairs with the Bearcat. Groete Marcus

I watched one of these recently being put through its paces at Duxford , the closest aircraft I could compare it to would be the La9 . Both appear very fast with powerful climb ability , very impressive .
