Ride on a U2 spy plane
"James May with a view from a U-2 cruising at 70,000ft as the sky above turns black." _________________________
This video link below has been posted before on another thread but included here again just to show the DARK SIDE of the 'Dragon Lady'.
U-2 Dragon Lady: Landings
"The U-2 Dragon Lady is the most difficult plane to land in the world. The two-week-long pilot interview involves three flights. All interview landings are videotaped."

WOW yes the lucky so and so. the sky when it turned black, pretty incredible. I liked the part when he said if you jumped outside at that height, your blood would instantaniousely boil and you would die

Awesome vids, James May was a lucky sod alright. Flying at that height and seeing what he saw must have been one hell of an experience, no wonder he was kind of overcome once they had landed.

There was a very interesting FLYING magazine article a wee while ago which covered the U2, pilot selection and training for the U2, and one lucky reporter's flight in one. The world's ultimate tail dragger for sure.

That film with James May is awesome! Is it from Top Gear or another series?

Not sure Dave, in Oz James May has a half hour series running about 21st Century techo stuff. Recently he went flying in an RAF Typhoon in a five minute segment but it was not like the quality of the U2 video - that is a special film for sure.
