Its a good idea, and I'm signing up for it. Hell, I'll even pop in once a fortnight to give it a clean! Only need 500 to join up. BTW, what are any other organisations doing in the same situation?

Hey Don, yep thats pretty much to description. As I joined up at a later age than most of the other baggies I did tend to have more in common with the CPLs. And yep, had a place in Devon Cres too!
I swapped the ute for Dave Alexander(14 sqn at the time?)'s Monaro. Not the cleverest move but we all make mistakes!
Wayyy too many years under the bridge, and I've lost contact with most I've worked with, as happens. The arrival of an A-4 at Classic Flyers in the near future may facilitate a local reunion.
Vaguely remember the other Jonesy. tragic stuff. Well done with the book. A fitting tribute.

Ah yes Don, I also remember the plastic after nite shifts, also as a junior baggie was the one to fill it up too! A good portion of my time at 2 was spent with Hector T as my SGT, and he was a guy I had a lot of time for. Dropped into see him occasionally on trips to Wgtn, but havent seen him for some years now. Hell of a good guy.

I overheard a rumour a while ago that there was an airworthy Mosquito in NZ, and was due to fly soon? Is there any truth to this or is it just a teaser?? Interested to hear your comments or gossip...

Its in the blood. My father flew with the Pathfinder Force in Mosquitoes during WW2. (162 and 608 Sqn). Also was involved in the locating/ recovery of bodies of ZK-AKX "Kereru" in early 1948 as it was on our family farm. He was first on scene. Coincidentally, in 1987 (I think) I was involved in the recovery of various airframe parts and engines with a team from Shelly Bay. From memory this gear was used in restoration of a Hudson Bomber at Wigram Museum? Anyway..I joined RNZAF in 87 (R3-87)and left in 92. Involved in 2 Sqn a couple of times during/post project Kahu. Also briefly 14 Sqn and MSS. Great, great years, no regrets. Left for OE
