Piet de Geus has made an MS Flight Sim movie of the Soarremorre mission, which ends with some shots of the ceremony:

Errol
I'm happy to send you copies of any of these if that would be of use.

Thanks for that information, Errol.
I obtained Adams's personnel file from the helpful people at NZDF archives. The history sheet (NZ307) is remarkably bare. His conduct sheet (form 102 A) notes that he was at Whenuapai in August 1943 when he was AWOL for 10 hr.
There is a trade test card (form 167) that records his reclassification from AC2 to AC1 in March 1942, and his unit is given as No 3 (GR) Squadron, Whenuapai. There is also an entry in his miscellaneous record sheet (form 125) from March 1942 that lists him with that squadron at Harewood, and being posted to Whenuapai.
Hope this helps.

Hi
I'd be grateful if anyone could point me to an authoritative reference for how many New Zealand aircrew served in Europe in WW2, and how many did not return. I have c. 11,000 and c. 3,300 respectively from various sources.
There are variations depending on whether you're talking about air force personnel or strictly aircrew, and whether you're counting served in Europe or served in the RAF, though there may not be much difference.
Would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks.

Hi folks.
I know this is a real long shot, but there's a chance someone on the forum will be able to help. I'm doing some family history research about my partner's uncle, F/O Dawson Albert Cotton RNZAF. He was a navigator who trained in New Zealand, Canada and the UK and served briefly with 75 (NZ) Sqdn in 1945.
His logbook (and medals) went missing/were stolen at some point when he wasn't looking after things as well as he might have. If anyone has stumbled across these (garage sale? Trade Me?) at any point we'd love to have a copy or the originals back.
Many thanks, Andrew
