I tried something different to shoot on Saturday afternoon and thought Kariotahi Beach would be good to catch some paragliders. There were plenty there just hanging around on the up drafts and a lovely sunny day with lots of admirers and other activities to occupy the crowd. Nice place to visit if you have some time to spare and just 8Km from Waiuku. Cheers

Nice shot, we often head out there in our gliders from Drury if it more than 15kts between 200 and 260 degrees (25kts is ideal), generally the paragliders give it away at that strength, which is just as well as you have to dodge them, we often run out to sea around Kario to give the slow movers some room.

That would be fun to see gliders there too. I must pop into Drury again soon and have a look see. Some more pics: Cheers

I like the shot with the cliffface in the background, the beach shot would be good with a glider screaming through at 100kts !
Hopefully next weekend with a decent SW a couple of us will probably head out to the coast, would be nice to provide some photo opportunities.
