Just to clarify that a little. She was purchased from her previous owners by a number of our Ashburton Aviaiton Museum members putting up donations. We also traded the engine with good hours remaining to the CAC in return for a time expired "runner." She is going back into her early CAC colours and as of this afternoon (3rd Dec 09) the Montana White base coat is complete, with just the red accents and reg markings to apply. She will carry the Canterbury Aero Club insignia on the cowls. CAC have been brilliant in assisting us with this project. Everyone welcome to our "50 Years Of Piper Cherokee" celebrations at Ashburton Jan 14 - 17 2010. Saturdays the main day.

Just got out my logbook to see what I did in CUA. Did a dual with Matt Limbert (forced landings and stalls) June 2001, solo circuits at West Melton in June 2000, took a friend, her son and my son Daniel for a scenic to the Alps near Oxford in June 96 and two duals with Bevan Dodds Jan 96(forced landings and stalls) and Dec 95(Low flying ;D, short landing and crosswind landings). My other 140s were (starting from 1979) DEE, EIM,EBP,EBB(went solo in EBB but she crashed in late 80s or early 90s),EBC,DGH,DEK,CUX,DUW,DEG,EBM,EBV,DUU,CUA, and DUP. DUU was lost when it ran out of fuel off the canterbury coast in 1999 or early 2000. I went on my longest trip in DUU up to Whangarei. My last flight as P. in C. was in EBC september 2003. Apart from the 140s I logged time in the 181s, went solo in a real plane (the Cub) and a few club day competition flights in the 172. All told about 200 hours. Wish I hadn't picked up my logbook now I'm getting itchy "wings"! ;D
