Listening to the Lux Radio Theatre episode called 'Flight Command', which is based on the film of the same name, an interesting aside is mentioned. This is about US Navy pilots but about 23 minutes into the episode they are discussing the fact that a James McCallum from New Zealand bombed three bridges at Dunkirk singlehandedly, allowing four Divisions to escape from the Germans. He apparently had his plane full of bullet holes but got back to Dover and crashed, breaking his leg - they say. You can download the episode here www.archive.org/details/Lux06I'm curious as to whether this is factual information or if the writer has simply made it up. It seems odd that they threw in a new Zealand connection to it as most Americans listening wouldn't have known where NZ was when this was first broadcast in March 1941.
