Since I'll soon be heading to 6 SQN, I was wondering if there was a conversion set available to transform the 1/48 F model Seasprite into a a G model?
I know I've seen decals from model alliance, but I had the feeling someone made a resin conversion, but I can't seem to track it down.
If anyone knows if this does in fact exist, can they point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Have a look for Cobra Resins. They have two sets for the Seasprite in 1/48. Not sure if 'F' or 'G'.
Good luck.

Those appear to be F model detail sets rather than conversion to the G model.
It look like Model Alliance were going to do a conversion, but either never did, or it's not available any more.

Talking to the Gary Madgwick, the bossman at Model Alliance at the UK IPMS Nationals a couple of years ago, he was under the mistaken belief that there was a Cobra Company conversion for the G. He was most put out when he found out there wasn't.
MA is undergoing some positive changes at the moment and I wouldn't count out them producing the conversion if they can get the owners of the base kit moulds to produce them a run of basic mouldings.
Watch out for new product lines at SMW 2010.
Take care
Andy

It would make some sense for them to produce the conversion, currently they make decals for a version that doesn't exist in model form, which doesn't seem like a commercial winner at all.

I believe the print run was only 200 sheets in 1/48th and you can do an F, so he probably has sold out already.
neil Robinson, who was editor of Model Aircraft Monthly has joined the MA team as of 01/04/10 and he is keen to tie in books, resin and decals to the new quarterly magazine to be announced soon, so lets hope the SH-2G is one of the subjects, I know I'm pushing it.

Well sniping software makes ebay a total waste of time these days. I had the winning bid on a Revell 1/48 F model right up until 1 second to go, then bang, sniped.
It's happened a couple of times now, these days unless there's a 'buy now' feature, ebay sux.

Hannants still had it in stock a few days back. I got a set from them (heaven knows why) in January. It's probably not big seller

I just got a matchbox boxing of the F, and the MA decals...
Who knows if it will ever get built as a G, perhaps I could do it as an earlier F, but I'd really rather do the G version.
After all, I'll have the best references available in a couple of months!
