Hi all
Couple of quick technical questions if I may?
On the Sunderland (I guess for that matter other similar sized aircraft eg Hastings/DC3) can anyone please confirm what the size of the D type Roundels were (wings and fuselage)? I am guessing 54"?
Aircraft Code letters sizes eg on Sunderland Fuselage and under the wings?
Thanks
Alan

Serial numbers and codes, sizes as follows Sunderland:-Both the Fuselage Code Letters and Under wing serials were 54" Standard San Serif lettering (meaning each letter is 33 3/4" wide with a 6" wide stroke)
Dakota:- NZAP 2656a (2nd edition 1962) states the following Fuselage serial numbers 8"x 5" Upper fin and Nose serial number (last two figures) 10"x 6.25"x 1.25" (stroke width) Although not mentioned in the 2656a, the last scheme for the Dak has the Underwing Serial Numbers at 48"x 27"x 6"strokes Wing Roundels 54" top & bottom Fuselage roundels 36"
