Great photos guys, thanks. That CT4 photo shows how large the Blackhawk really is. I noticed the names forward of the engine intakes, are these individual aircraft names?

I noticed the names forward of the engine intakes, are these individual aircraft names? Yes. I had a chat to one of the crewmen at the ADF airshow in 2006 about the names but can't remember the full story unfortunately.

The Aussie Army love naming things - the M1A1 MBTs all have names on them as well, as did the Leopards that went before them.

Was thinking the same thing Joe...jeez they are big. I've seen a feew in my travels..but I've never got that close, they are big momma's alright. Truly lovely pics guys ;D

It may look big but I think this has been said in a previous thread, that the Blackhawk has a smaller cargo compartment than the NH90........... hence one of the reasons why the RNZAF selected the NH90.
