Hi Well my son Cameron asked me to buy a model that we could do together, which wasnt a problem. Anyway several weeks ago we brought the Tamiya Mustang, and Malcolms beautiful Ventura Decals (thanks Malcolm!) So we started this and a week later.......here we go. Now he thinks he built it all pretty much himself (which is all good with me, but I would be remiss if I said he didnt do it all himself) and he wants to enter it in the Nationals.........mmmm dont know how that would work!!! Anyway, I set him up with the airbrush and he did actually spray the silver using the awesome Mr Color range. He sanded the few joins etc (I went over and tidied them up. But he actually did a fair bit. Here we go anyway this our weeks work........ Every day I got home from work..........there he was with his model, ready to go!! Actually if he hadnt kept on my case the model would still be in the box. There are a few things I would have done differently, but hey, it was about having fun and we really did and he hugely enjoyed it!! Next up is an Academy Harvard with Malcolms Decals again, he wants to do NZ1065 in the grey/orange scheme (as it reminds him of the one outside Wigram). Thanks for looking

Great Mustang model Anthony and Cameron. Bit of a chang eof pace for you Anthony, from the monster sized BK to this 1/72 P51

Thanks guys, he is only 7 so you can see there was a lot of input from day.
Yes Joe, it was actually a nice change of pace. Actually it is a real testament to Tamiya that you can such a good result in a week, these kits practically build themselves.
I feel like a modeller again after being bogged down for so long on the BK.
Cheers and thanks.............I will pass your comments on to him! Anthony

Hi Anthony. Looks like another great modeller in your family mate! Just watch your stash, as he'll soon be into those!!! Please pass on my congratulations to Cameron for persevering. A very cleanly built model.
I have a partially built 1:72 F-14 sitting on my bench that was started three years ago as a joint build with one of my nephews. After three Sunday afternoon sessions, and an assembled airframe, he seems to have lost interest. Oh, well, I did try.
Cheers, Pete M.

Hey Pete at least you gave it a go! He will remember and I am sure one day he will want to finish it.
You are right.................he wants to build everything in my stash........particularly the big Airfix Mossie!!! Yea right.
Cheers Anthony

Same here..I've got this kit - decided that this would be a good one to start with after many years not doing any modelling. Probably will do the same scheme as well

Great work!
That's exactly the same as I have planned, although mine will be 1/48.
