I'm building the Hasegawa kit as '52 in the pseudo-Euro 1 scheme. Would the insides of the slats and flap be black with this scheme? Also did the family sized scooter use the 150 gallon tank on the center line?
Thanks in advance.

I painted the interior faces of those surfaces in the darker green on mine, with the local camouflage colours continued on the slat recesses. The darker green wasn't definitive, just 'as far as I can tell'. Not sure about the 150 on the centreline; I get the impression were only used on the gold T-bird and solo display aircraft, but no doubt the genuine experten will be able to answer both questions

Mumbles, Thanks very much for for that, I knew about the 150s on '56 when she was the Golden Skyhawk, but I have been unable to find anthing about them being used other than that.
I wonder if they were part of the purchase of the RAN machines?

Yes the 150 gal tanks came with the RAN Skyhawks. They were mainly used by the RNZAF as diesel "smoke" tanks on the centre-line for aerobatic displays. '56 used them as fuel tanks when it was gold in 1986/87 and during Kiwi Red in 1989/90 the T-bird in the display (Red 1) also used them as fuel tanks (with a buddy store on the centre-line).
The inside of the slats and the wing underneath them were camo'ed the same as the rest of the aircraft

The inside of the flaps/spoiler surfaces were dark green IIRC, although the wing surface under the slats was the continuation of the wing cammo, I can't recall what the underside of the slats were.

I have a few pics of a A-4k & TA-4K in the Walkarounds section, if you've not already seen them. Cheers Ross
