Dee, Do you have any relations in Australia? My daughter found this chap at RAAF Pt Cook and there seems to be some resemblence to your proboards logo. Anyhow he was purchased and brought home. We will now apply for a kiwi passport for him. Cheers Peter

I am more impressed with the chart he is sitting on!
If I read it correctly, it is a night raid on Germany from somewhere north of Lincoln.
Scampton, Linton-on-Ouse?

Yes he is cute isnt he... If you get the Kiwi passport can you get it in my name LOL! ;D Actually the one in the avatar is one of Daves std ones. I just wish I was a Warrant Officer (or even a Sgt) in real life rather than a lowly Cpl.... Dee

Dee ,I will let you know on the name.Funnily enough my youngest has always travelled with a special Ted who has a mock up passport, and every country except NZ is happy to stamp it. In USA the tough Homeland Security guys even ran a computer check on him thinking he could be a crim, much to the horror of my 9 year old. A great laugh all round.

Guest, you are an eagle eye for going on 110 years old!! The chart is an original navigators plotting chart, one of the few I have come across in good condition. Its from F/L Alexander Mitchell DFC RNZAF on a 51 Squadron raid from their base in Snaith to Gilsenkirchen. It isnt dated so can some one help out with this. Mitchell did 37 ops and died in 1980. If its of interest I can try to scan and post it.

....and to sedgway back into the topic, I have it on good authority that the RNZAF bear in both light blue and zoot suit will be readily available through your friendly air force contacts prior to Christmas.

I have a bear named Biggles which is the mascot of the SAA Waikato chapter. he attends all our big fly-ins and wears one of our chapter badges. this photos was taken at Black Sands 2010 (Raglan) by my mate Bill Izard. Bill's dog Jasper absolutely loves playing with Teddy Bears! (Fortunately Biggles managed to avoid this!...)
