I have a problem someone maybe can help me with. I have a fair amount of WWII black and white and the odd bit of colour film now on VHS or DVD and I would like to get reasonable quality stills. So far the best I can do is play them, freeze frame then photograph the screen. Not very satisfactory. Is there a whizz bang bit of software or a simple solution out there.

There is a screencap feature in PowerDVD. Should do the trick I think. www.metcoverart.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3717I'm pretty sure its possible in Windows Media player but I don't use it. For VHS the only way to do it would be to digitise it using a video capture card. Not the easiest way to go but if your PC is new enough and you aren't too tech savvy or require outstanding results, a USB capture dongle should do the trick. Like this one. www.techbuy.com.au/p/129777/Pinnacle/PIN03029.asp
