I'm pretty certain that was at the 1990 Ardmore Airshow. Not sure of any other details.

That shot was probably taken at the Auckland International airshow in 1992 (?). Its now with Col Pays son in Scone Australia.NZ3094 was the original RNZAF serial.

Remember it well at the Auckland show, though I seem to remember it turning up somewhere else as well. I have more photos of it as well somewhere. Interesting to hear where it turned up.

Good to see that one of the Tonga P-40's has survived.

So is it flying now? I was also one of seemingly quite a few people who remember it from the '92 airshow and was wondering what happened to it!

It has been flying for a couple of years, Col Pay had it flying before he died. It flies in the colours of an Australian ace now, with a kangaroo nose art or something. You don't often see photos of it though so perhaps it doesn't get around as much as the other ex-RNZAF P-40 flying in Aussie.

If you have a look at Shorty's Stash thread there are photos of NZ3094 before restoration on it.
