is the 2 seater back in the air again or were these taken a while ago She's been up for over two months - displayed at the BoB and Pearl Harbor Open Days at Ardmore. I assume this from the later, as Gavin did a couple of photo flights. More ground to air photos in appropriate threads on Airshows board. BoBPearl

The photo enclosed was taken at Ardmore on December 5. Dave Brown is in the back of the Spitfire and Brett is flying the P-51. Doug flew a display practice and flew really well. It is not often I clap as a pilot taxis past. Was a first class display.

What can I say . You do take some great photos. Have you ever thought of doing a New Zealand warbird calendar. I'm sure it would sell like hot cakes. One question if I may. Do you have a photo of the Mustang by itself in that pose/lighting as I would like to buy one and get it framed as my mother's cousin was killed in one in 1953 over the desert road area. My other favorate is the Corsair but I have to wait for it to appear in RNZAF colours.

Corsairarm, have a look in the Airshows section under Warbirds events, I have posted some P-51 photos, they have my copyright on them but if you would like any of them to frame let me know, would be happy for you to have them

Great photo and whilst hopefully everyone had a Merry Christmas, I'm afraid a happy new year might not be the case for the Spitfire. I just taxi'd past it in the shed with a gantry over the front and everything from the engine block up removed. Those heads are huge but very expensive looking in the mechanics arms.

I heard yesterday that someone had seen it leaving a rather significant amount of fuel on the ground recently, probably related to why it's gone back into the maintenance hangar?

I understand the Spit has developed an oil leak and getting her repaired and back in the air for WoW is a priority for the AvSpecs lads

I saw Frank parker test flying it last Friday. It looked and sounded so beatiful. My freidns and I were with Doug Brooker when Frank started it, and after Frank taxied away to take off, all four of us were grinning ear to ear, even Doug who gets to fly it. I took the opportunity to shake his hand and thank him for bringing it to NZ.
Good luck to the Avspecs boys to get it flying for Masterton.
