Hi all, Finished this ICM kit recently - haven't done much modelling lately, due renovations, so a 'fun' build to blow out some cobwebs! Used Ultracast prop, spinner, exhausts and seat plus True Details wheels. Scratch built the 44 gallon drop tank. Not very happy with the cowling cover join and managed to stuff up finish by using old tin of Tamiya white for D-Day markings; this came off in big flakes when masking was removed! Aarghh. Model represents a 'generic' 485 Spit, with 50 cal conversion, where D-Day markings had covered up code letters/serial, but before individual codes were repainted on the front fuselage (at least until I can be bothered creating some decals! Now to try and get back into the 1/35 Huey! Cheers, Ian

Very nice work. well done Ian. I like the 'hurriedly hand applied' look of the D-Day stripes, something most people overlook.

Far out, Ian, you'd have to be happy with that ... well, I would be anyway. LOL. Nice work, mate.
I've been trying to get back into modelling but have only succeeded in adding to the stash, acquiring equipment and paint and reading Fine Scale Modeler. My wife bought a dog-grooming table but now doesn't want to use it so looks like I've acquired a work space!

Looks darned good to me. The ICM kit is tricky to put together but I think it looks the part once finished. Long, lean and agressive.
