As mentioned before on this forum by me, I have now made the new video tape which I intend to circulate around members who are interested in some very rare old programmes about the RNZAF and related stuff.
The content of this video is:
A Shed Will Be Necessary (TVNZ, 1987, the history of the RNZAF)
RNZAF - The First Fifty Years (NZ National Film Unit, 1987, history of the RNZAF, good companions to the above)
Holmes - DC3 in New Zealand (a piece from Holmes marking the end of operations of the Fieldair Freight DC3/C47's, with history of type in RNZAF and civil aviation in NZ, 1993ish)
Holmes - No. 30 Squadron Reunion, Gisborne, 1993. The final reunion of the full No. 30 Sqn and SU Association after fifty years, includes Sir Tim's TBM Plonky, 1993)
Spitfire TB863 Display (this is a short home video of the Spitfire TB863 being displayed by Stephen Grey at RNZAF Woodbourne in Feb 1989, filmed by an RNZAF officer. This was the first day I ever saw the Spitfire and I'm glad to have found this clip, so I thought I'd share it. It crashed a few days later.)
20/20 - D Day piece from June 1994 featuring Spitfire ace Johnnie Houlton returning to the UK to reunite with ML407 OU-V, his Spitfire in which he shot down the first German aircraft on D Day. Excellent piece.
The Red Chequers (TVNZ, 1985) An excellent documentary following the 1983/84 season of the RNZAF's Red Chequers CT-4B display team, lead by Bruce Ferguson (now Chief of Air Staff)
3 National News - Feature on the Skyhawks going to Nowra
60 Minutes - 2 Sqn Nowra Longer this time, on No. 2 Sqn at Nowra. Both the above are excellent records of those days.
3 National News - Import of Bf110's to Wigram for Sir Tim Wallis, news clip (full of inaccuracies but very interesting
Holmes - Warbirds Over Wanaka 1994 - Broadcast Good Friday 1994, featuring the upcoming airshow that weekend
Stamp Scape - a 1980's fill-in, recorded 1987, featuring aircraft that appeared on a new stamp set back then - Bristol Freighter, Boeing (Walsh Bros), Empire flying boat, Lockheed Electra and Lockheed Lodestar (see Motat's Lodestar in pristine condition with both engines running!)
One Network News - Motat's Solent - a report from 1994 of the Solent restoration completion with interviews with several of the team

HERE IS THE DEAL
I am lending this to whoever wants to see it. It will be circulated. I will hand it to Bruce, then he will hand it to the next guy, and so on until everyone has seen it.
So if you want to see it, email me now and I will put you onto the list. Send your full name, postal address, and email to me at dave_daasnz@hotmail.com
Once I have all the names and addresses in, I will pass one onto Bruce. When he has viewed the tape, he'll send it to that person. He will then email me to say it's sent. The receiver will also email me when he/she receives the tape to say it's arrived, and will be sent the next address.
So, all you have to do is pay for onwards postage.
PLEASE, PLEASE make sure that you do not keep the tape any longer than 3 weeks - others want to see it. And make sure you DO pass it on and DO keep in touch with me about it's arrival and when you've sent it on.
This is a privilege I am extending to all the members, so please do not abuse it. I will know where the tape is, so will know who has it if it goes astray.
RIGHT
If you're interested in this great opportunity to view around three hours of very rare old documentaries and news footage, email me now.
