...you never know who is going to be reading it. TV3 report from tonights news. In addition to regurgitating not necessarily related history, continuing to refer to a 'crash' and missing the point that to my mind ANZ and TAIC are almost saying the same thing, just wording it differently, it also directly references an internet forum at 1:30. www.3news.co.nz/Too-early-to-know-what-caused-plane-crash---TAIC/tabid/309/articleID/197901/Default.aspxPoint being that the media do read forums, and everything that goes on the internet is potentially public and open to misinterpretation by the uninformed.

Yes I saw that too. It seemed a bit pointless to place that segment into the report and I assume they were clutching at anything to fill the slot. But I did have a read of the thread on here to see if it was this forum being quoted and I'm sure it was not.

The joys of a Google search. Is that the only ammo the mindless journos have these days?

The joys of a Google search. Is that the only ammo the mindless journos have these days? I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised that they were too lazy to even do a quick check of the references on the Wikipedia page on Dash 8 landing gear incidents, and refer to one of the semi-relevant incidents listed. Obviously an analysis of frequency of incidents per flight, with comparison to other operators and aircraft types, is too much to ask for.
