Very good review. I haven't seen the kit yet myself. Unofficially the manfacturer refers to the NZLAV as a LAV 3.5 as the lower hull, suspension and engine grills are as per Stryker build standard while the upper hull and turret are as per Canadian LAVIII build standard.
The turret flexable MG mount is common with the later ASLAV mount.
The add-on-armour is fitted in NZ on a small number of vehicles so you can assemble the kit as provided and remain prototypical.

Thanks for the offer of photos, I've hopefully got a few on the way from CPE but I suspect I'll still need some showing the different configuration around the engine exhaust, as ours isn't angled and open to the hull side like the kit is.
