Grab your favourite AirNZ staff member and get along to one of these Open Days. Been to the last couple in CHC and some thoroughly interesting stuff. Entry via guest passes allocated to AirNZ Staff (up to 10/staff member)
Come Hangar Round with us at Tech Ops Open Days
Tech Ops Open Days will be taking place at Air New Zealand’s main engineering bases on Saturday April 2 in Christchurch and Sunday April 3 in Auckland. This year, Tech Ops Open Days will feature what staff at Boeing have called ‘the world’s best passenger jet’, our Boeing 777-300. You can climb aboard and see our groundbreaking ‘cuddle class’ seats, our unique premium economy seats and experience the wow factor of one of the most talked about new aircraft of the decade. We will also have the spectacular All Black A320 at both bases. It’s likely we’ll have to queue for these aircraft so there’s plenty of entertainment laid on, including live music.
In Auckland we’ll also have a Boeing 747 and 767 to look through, and you will also be able to see the cockpit on these two aircraft. The Christchurch base will also showcase its dramatic new $4 million state of the art Distribution Centre, known locally as ‘The Shed’. In Auckland you can take your first look at the new workshops being added to Hangar 3 as part of a major redevelopment for our new wide body fleet. As well as aircraft and workshop displays there will also be kids’ entertainment, crash fire service displays, food and drink, hobby displays and giveaways.
If you are interested in attending the Tech Ops Open Day in either Auckland or Christchurch you will need to register via the Air New Zealand events website and make sure you read the conditions of entry. Please nominate the number of guests you will bring (up to 10). You will be responsible for them on the day so please make sure they have secure footwear – no loose heels and no jandals. Remember, both bases are heavy engineering facilities!
