Sir Anand had the best seat in the Abbey! Those trees really got on my nerves...
Good to see William picked the army uniform. He would have looked a bit bland in RAF service dress... Why did the RAF get rid of there full dress uniform anyway?

They only picked Cambridge to be the Duke and Duchess of because the famous Dave lives there! Just as well he doesn't live in that place Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu in Southern Hawke Bay!

I will now expect famous Dave of Cambridge , or should that be David Esq. to adopt full regalia when he attends Forum meets in future. Perhaps Baz could advise on an appropriate costume. Good show all round, the Poms certainly can put on a good do.

Strewth they got named after a Waikato rural service town....didn't see that coming... ;D ;D This was apparently a Third flypast performed during the aston marton drive. County’s own King escorts royal couple on their big day A SEARCH and rescue helicopter from Suffolk’s Wattisham airfield flew above the newly-married royal couple yesterday. The RAF crew flew overhead in a yellow rescue Sea King helicopter as a special surprise for the bride and groom. He smiled broadly as he drove his wife, still in her bridal gown, through the Privy Purse. The helicopter was flown by members of ‘B’ Flight 22 Squadron, of which William is a member. The captain was Squadron Leader Holly Steel, from Hamilton, New Zealand, who is the Flight Commander of ‘B’ Flight, while her co-pilot was Flight Lieutenant Lee Turner, from Weymouth, Dorset. For the uninformed, Cambridge in New Zealand was actually named after the Duke of Cambridge at the time, who was the commander in chief of the British Army in New Zealand, and the cousin of Queen Victoria, when Cambridge was formed in 1864 (around the British Army's Ten Star Redoubt, the last on the frontier before British territory became King Country). Also the current Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, has been to Cambridge, NZ, a couple of times I believe. His most recent visit a few years back was very low key, unofficial and was just to see friends and I think check on some of his grandmother's studs and horses. He stayed in an ordinary motel in the same street as my Mum lives. Everyone reckoned he was a nice ordinary person.
Of course the Queen has visited Cambridge too in the past and she owns property there, I think the famous Windsor Stud is her's, at least one of Cambridge's big studs is I can't recall which one though. And in the olden days the Duke of York visited in the 1930's.
Service town? What does that mean? I don't really know what that description means. The Army had camps there for decades but they left in the 1940's or so.

A town that supplies the services required in a rural district e.g, shops, banks, schools etc The sort of services that are provided for an urban population by cities. In other words a town whose basic existance is for that reason (as opposed to being a port, rail terminus, manufacturing centre, commmercial centre etc.) In your part of the world other examples would be Matamata, Te Awamutu, Te Kuiti and so forth.
