I was waiting for this pretty little creature to turn up. Although she only arrived yesterday she was technically due on the 27th of April, and with a big sister who arrived a couple of weeks early it seemed prudent not to be out of town. My new daughter Sophie:

Congratulations Sam. I did wonder if you were at the show, and was keeping an eye out for you.

WOW....congratulations, Sam. Your wee daughter looks like she'll be ready for her first haircut in a few weeks! Mind, she hasn't got as much hair as I had when I was born, virtually needing a haircut. This was me at 2½-weeks old back in February 1954....

My new daughter Sophie: If you'd had that child over here, you'd have gotten $5000 for her! ;D Congratualtions, mate.

Thanks all. It was difficult being so close to Omaka and not being able to go, especially once Vincent Aviation put together their fly-over-for-the-day package at a very competitive price, but you just don't know about these things. Tempting, but there will be other airshows, and we got our first daughter to Masterton this year without too many issues. Plus my wife has always wanted to go to Wanaka, so that is on the agenda sometime.
In hindsight it looks like daughter no.1 arrived early because she wasn't quite healthy (since resolved). Soph has no such issues, so went to full term and slightly beyond. *Shrugs*, I am just happy she is here and healthy and I now have two awesome daughters instead of one. Bringing her home today and not after three weeks in the NICU doesn't hurt either ;D
